The need to create an in-house laboratory that extends the boundaries of the pharmacy led to the establishment of Mediplants. The name—a combination of the words Medicinal and Plants—stems from the original idea: the cultivation, processing, and standardization of aromatic medicinal plants and their products (e.g., tinctures, essential oils).After the company was established, its first activity was collecting and selling medicinal plants (e.g., chamomile and sage) in collaboration with growers.

1984
This is the year Mediplants’ first product, clove oil, was standardized and has been marketed steadily since then.

1992
The company moves to new premises.

1993
By a joint ministerial decision of the Ministers of Health and Industry, the Mediplants laboratory is granted a license to manufacture Pharmaceutical and Cosmetic Products in addition to its other activities.

2003
Oinopneuma Farmaceutico Mediplants (Ethanol) 70%v/v is released with a Non-Prescription Drug license from the National Organization for Medicines.

2010
The National Organization for Medicines issued a certificate of compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards to Mediplants’ pharmaceutical laboratory.
